      The Philippines has been prone to natural disasters due to its geographical location and climate, leaving the country vulnerable to typhoons, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and rising sea levels. The consequences of these calamities leave individuals and vulnerable communities struggling to rebuild their homes and livelihoods. In efforts towards a more resilient Philippines, several initiatives must be implemented to prepare and minimize the damage these natural disasters can cause.      The communities can be empowered with education on disaster risk reduction and management. Teaching individuals about evacuation procedures, early warning systems, and simple first aid can greatly reduce fatalities and injuries during a disaster.
